This page provides links to a few samples of our technical documentation work. In addition to the samples on this page, please be sure to also take a look at the Xerox/Kurzweil Personal Reader Audio-Based Documentation on our Audio and Video page.
Our projects have ranged from basic end-user product documentation to system adminstration guides, programming guides, API and product specifications, technical whitepapers, and technical articles.
Designed, wrote, and illustrated Wabi 2: Opening Windows; cited as a "Best Book of 1996" by UNIX Review magazine. A precursor to the open source Wine project, Wabi was a Windows application binary interpreter that enabled users to run Windows applications in UNIX-based X Window environments. This sample chapter provides Windows users a basic introduction to UNIX concepts.
Designed, wrote, and illustrated API reference cards and developer-level user's guide for Visual Orchestrate from Torrent Systems (since acquired by Ascential Software, which was in turn acquired by IBM), an environment for developing parallel processing applications using standard sequential programming models.
The following samples include the Visual Orchestrate User's Guide, and two API reference cards. The first two pages of each of these API references are meant to be printed double-sided to create quick reference cards. When viewed online in PDF format, the entries on these quick reference cards are linked to their corresponding full API references later in each document.
